The SASS Industry Day, which was held on August 5, 2016, served as a platform for students to engage with industry professionals and to gain further insights on the trends, challenges and expectations of employers from the relevant fields.

Overview of Employment Opportunities for SASS Students
Presented by Mr Selwyn Ng, Head, Student Experience

Students were given an overview of the current job market, the various tools and job search platforms available.  

Dialogues with Industry Panel - "Trends, Challenges and Expectations in the Industry"
Moderated by Prof Kuah Khun Eng, Head, School of Arts and Social Sciences

Dato' Steven CM Wong, Deputy Chief Executive of the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) and Mr Premesh Chandran, CEO and co-founder of Malaysiakini shared their personal experiences and employment trajectories - of the joy and difficulties that they have encountered when they first started up.  The panelists also delved into the complexities and discourses within their particular fields, and shared insightful views on strategies to succeed in the industry. 

Work life for Dummies
Presented by Malik Ridhwan, Pritha Manivannan, Philip Teh, Alicia Tan and Adeline Kong from ASTRO Malaysia Holdings Berhad

Students participated in this “taster session” for some hands-on experience working for leading integrated consumer media entertainment group in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. The workshop allowed students to gain valuable insight in the field of media and communications.
